A Win for PPEC centers in Florida

Florida PPECs Named a Winner of the 2025 Legislative Session

We’re proud to share that PPECs were named a legislative “winner” in Florida Politics’ 2025 Session recap—a major validation of the vital role these centers play for Florida’s medically fragile children.

As the article notes, providers across the state stood together to fight off an attempt to shift Medicaid coverage of PPECs into managed care plans—protecting access, quality, and choice for families. The session also paved the way for the possibility of a much-needed reimbursement rate increase within the state budget.

This victory was made possible through tireless advocacy by committed providers and the strategic leadership of Johnston & Stewart Government Strategies, who helped lead the charge in Tallahassee.

We’re especially proud of the contributions of coalition members like Tender Care PPEC and The Kidz Club, who stood shoulder to shoulder in this fight.
